When we started farming Black Soldier Flies, we found that egg collection can be a bit annoying, there was not an efficient way of collecting eggs out there. So we developed a system to easily collect eggs that is efficient and aesthetically pleasing.

Engineered for Optimal Oviposition:

• Egg Cartridges The core of the BSFL Coop features eight modular cartridges, four 1mm and four 2mm, giving the flies different options for comfortable egg laying.

• Minimal Disruption, Maximum Collection: This system is specifically designed to allow you to collect and harvest thousands of eggs with minimal disturbance to the adult fly environment. Simply remove a cartridge, and replace with a fresh cartridge or gently collect the eggs with a pen knife, and re-suspend it. Eggs typically hatch in 3-4 days.

• Durable & Sustainable Construction:

  • Frame: The robust, yet lightweight, frame is crafted from Birch Dowels and held together with precise PETG connectors, providing stable suspension for the cartridges. Frame is designed to be placed above or inside attractant container.

  • Cartridges: Made entirely of durable PETG, these cartridges are built to withstand the humid conditions of an active BSFL breeding environment for years of reliable use.
